AREA

Explore family friendly Kvitfjell, Norway's snow-reliable ski resort offering a unique blend of skiing, comfort, charm and all year-round attractions. Just 45 minutes north of Lillehammer, easily accessible from the E6, Kvitfjell boasts wide, lengthy trails catering to all levels. With 34 kilometers of alpine slopes cascading 854 meters in height, this serene haven offers tranquility and immaculately groomed trails, ensuring a hassle-free winter skiing experience. Discover year-round attractions: skiing in winter, and hiking and fishing during the warmer months.

SKIING

If you take the Varden lift up to the top, you get access to an extensive cross-country skiing network with many possibilities. From the top of Varden, it is just over 1 mile to Skeikampen and 2.5 miles to Gålå. You can also take shorter trips to Skardbua and Fagerhøi. Great tracks are prepared throughout the season, and there are trips for all levels in the 600 km network of trails. For the children, there is a large ski play area just below Laftestølen, which is excellent for play and activity.

HIKING

Many of the trails go in high mountain terrain, with views towards Rondane and Huldreheimen, while other trails go in forest terrain. The area has a rich and exciting flora and fauna, and many good fishing lakes. Through this beautiful mountain terrain, it runs approx. The 90 km long Peer Gynt path which offers good opportunities to go from place to place through Peer Gynt's Kingdom.

FOOD

Food enthusiasts flock to Kvitfjell for an array of dining experiences, from gourmet dinners to freshly baked treats and comforting beverages. Our eateries prioritize homemade quality, proudly standing as fryer-free zones. Tyrihanstunet is a must-visit, renowned for homemade lunch, a dedicated pizzeria, après-ski delights, Raclette evenings, and convenient home delivery. On the west side, Gondolen Fjellbistro offers a cozy atmosphere with home-cooked meals and beverages. Varden restaurant maintains an exceptional standard. Koia, an ancient log cabin on the east side, serves gourmet sausages and drinks—an ideal slope-side stop reminiscent of Austrian après-ski. Newcomer Fôr serves delightful lunch and exquisite 5- to 7-course dinners.
